Request a PoL assessment

A NMI See Relevant Rules or Procedures must have and maintain a predictable load to be eligible to participate in WDR Wholesale Demand Response. This is so baseline energy can be accurately estimated and the NMI can be shown to satisfy the baseline compliance standard.

To request a PoL assessment:

  1. In the NMI details screen, click the Assess PoL button.

A warning Assess PoL window displays indicating any assessment leads to an immediate update to the NMI accuracy and bias metrics.

If the metrics are no longer be compliant, the DRSP needs to contact the WDR Operations team (wdr@aemo.com.au) and work to address the issue. In the meantime, you need to set your NMI to unavailable as it is not eligible to take part in WDR.

  2. Click the Assess button to continue.

If you choose to continue, you see a warning that the PoL is in progress. This process takes some time. The updated metrics are displayed on the portal once the assessment is complete. If they do not meet the threshold, there is an exclamation symbol next to them to indicate the same.

AEMO recommends if you need to rerun the PoL calculation for a NMI that is currently eligible, you do so using the application upload process. Uploading an application to amend an existing NMI with a new baseline methodology automatically triggers the PoL calculation and results are only applied to the NMI if the application reaches approval. In this way, if the metrics are ineligible the application can be discarded from Draft without any change to the existing metrics against the NMI in the group.
