3.1 Electricity data model v5.4

Participants wanting to receive the new Reports must upgrade to EMMS Data Model v5.4.

3.2 Data population dates

3.2.1 Frequency Performance Payments

Pre-production AEMO’s test system available to participants data population date: End of October 2024.

Production AEMO’s live system data population date: 9 December 2024.

Note that the [DISPATCH/PREDISPATCH/P5MIN 5 minute pre-dispatch].FCAS Frequency Controlled Ancillary Services. A service that balances, over short intervals (shorter than the dispatch interval), the power supplied by generating units and the power consumed by loads._REQ_* tables will populate in production from December 2024. However, legacy *.FCAS_REQUIREMENT tables will continue until June 2025. In June 2025, FCAS settlement will transition from Causer Pays to FPP Frequency Performance Payments, as part of the FPP rule change and financial settlement period. 3.2.2 Forecasting

Forecasting changes are postponed to Data Model v5.5.

3.3 Data subscription

3.3.1 Auto-subscription

Existing participants are auto-subscribed to any new files when they upgrade to the latest data model version. New file names to be advised.

3.3.2 Legacy files

On the Release Dates, AEMO Australian Energy Market Operator moves participants subscribed to existing files to the Legacy version. After you have upgraded to v5.4, subscribe to the current files in Data Subscription. For help, see Subscribe to Files.

3.4 Data Model Manager

An upgraded version of Data Model Manager (1.2.0 upgraded from 1.1.0) is available with this release. Participants will be required to use Data Model Manager v1.2.0 to implement the Data Model v5.4 release.

The following changes are included in this upgrade:

  • Ignores errors for unknown database types. This enables support for new database platforms without impacting the ability of Data Model Manager to execute upgrades for natively supported database platforms.
  • Non-functional updates to third party libraries.
