Concurrent subscription for EMMS reports

Background

AEMO Australian Energy Market Operator in consultation with industry, relaxed the rules around maintaining concurrent subscriptions to LATEST and LEGACY reports to facilitate an orderly transition.

The implementation of IESS Integrating Energy Storage Systems introduced breaking changes to the Settlements See Relevant Rules or Procedures suite of data for participants in the Data Model The definition of the interface to participants of data published by AEMO for gas or electricity. A database conforming to the Data Model can contain a local copy of all current participant-specific data recorded in the main database. The Data Model includes database tables, indexes, and primary keys. v5.3 release. These changes allow participants to collect Settlement data in the new table settlements tables introduced with IESS and maintain a parallel feed of transformed data to populate the legacy settlement tables to:

  • Continue to operate internal processes until they are ready to make a transition to the new settlement tables.
  • Capture all settlement data in the new settlements table structures.

AEMO is implementing an enhancement to the Data Interchange A set of cooperating applications used to replicate data between AEMO's energy market systems and a participant's DBMS conforming to the MMS Data Model. subscription management process (process). For more information, see DM 5.3 - Release Notes

What's changed?

The process did not have the capability to configure exclusions for specific reports. As an interim measure, the process was temporarily disabled allowing participants to maintain concurrent LATEST and LEGACY report subscriptions. We have completed the enhancements to add the capability to configure targeted exceptions, allowing re-enablement of the process to aid participants to manage their subscriptions and reducing workload on market data reporting systems.

Settlements report

The configuration only impacts the SETTLEMENTS report, so participants can continue to sustain concurrent subscriptions to this report.

For all other reports, the permitted concurrency of LATEST and LEGACY subscriptions is maintained at 14 days in pre-production and 5 days in production according to the practice prior to the implementation of Data Model v5.3.

Participants having already subscribed to Data Model v5.3 reports:

  • Unless you have subscribed within the retention window, any concurrent report subscriptions (excluding the SETTLEMENTS report) are immediately unsubscribed on implementation of this change.
  • If you have completed an internal transition to the new settlements tables, we encourage you to unsubscribe from the SETTLEMENTS_LEGACY report in the Markets Portal Web applications for registered participants only. Requires access to MarketNet. > Data Interchange > Data Subscription services.
  • If you are unsubscribing from LEGACY files but want keep concurrent subscriptions for the SETTLEMENTS report, ensure you do not accidentally unsubscribe from the SETTLEMENTS_LEGACY file in Data Interchange > Data Subscription > My subscriptions duplicate.
