Understanding receiving status

Dates for schema changes are communicated in technical specifications.

Each participant sets their own status for receiving files, either: Latest The participant is set up to receive both current and next projected future version of aseXML-compliant files., Current The participant can receive files compliant to the current aseXML version., or Superseded The participant can receive files compliant to the The participant can receive files compliant to the superseded aseXML version, and needs to change over their receiving system before the next aseXML version release. in the Markets Portal Web applications for registered participants only. Requires access to MarketNet..

When a new participant is set up, the default B2M Business-to-Market aseXML A standard for energy transactions in XML. Participants with access rights can change their B2M aseXML version in the Participant Schema See aseXML Schema. interface. For help, see Changing your B2M schema.

Latest status

If your receiving version is Latest, the files and acknowledgements delivered after a new release are in the new schema version. So you upgrade at the same time as AEMO Australian Energy Market Operator.

When AEMO implements a new schema, participants on the CURRENT or LATEST status see no change in their received files.

Current status

If your receiving version is Current, AEMO updates your status to Superseded and the files and acknowledgements sent to you remain in your existing schema version. You see no change in the version of the schema for the files you receive.

Superseded status

AEMO only supports the last 2 schema versions, so if you are on a Superseded version before an upgrade, you must upgrade to at least the new Superseded version to continue receiving files.

If your receiving version is Superseded, AEMO does not change your status. The files and acknowledgements sent to you are in the new Superseded version (current version before the schema change).
